At 6:30 this morning I felt a nudge on my shoulder. ” Hey are you coming running with me?” Sleepy and a bit confused I thought to myself NO, we are on vacation and I am still sleepy. However the mere fact that my husband was up bright and early waking me up for a morning run made my heart smile. So I dozed off to sleep again and got up when I heard him ruffling around in our bags for his shoes. I said, ” are you leaving me?” Patiently he waited while I got dressed and then we headed out for our early morning run. One beside the other we ran with the cool Bordentown, NJ breeze blowing against our faces. I found my self captivated by my husbands strength and endurance to not only push himself but to also push me as well. Proverbs 27:17 NIV says, ” As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. This is exactly what was happening at this moment. Iron sharpening iron. What better representation of Gods word than this. My husband the leader of our home waking up to strengthen his bride. What would it look like if we all did this. Pushed one another to be their best, believed in & encouraged one another when they needed encouragement. I truly believe this is what God wants for us. To be a people that uplifts one another instead of putting them down. Be a blessing today!
